Reiki 1
A Reiki 1, or first degree attunement, opens the participant to the awareness of the healing energies and allows Reiki to flow.
This level is primarily for self healing, although family, friends and pets are usefuil for practicing and developing the energy.
Reiki 2
A Reiki 2, or second degree attunement, requires a deeper commitment and brings greater understanding of Reiki.
It is regarded that this is the level you need to be able to set up as a practitioner. It doesn't mean that it is neccessary to become a practitioner and many people progress to this level for additional development and further access to more Reiki.
Sacred symbols are given at this level; the power symbol, the harmony symbol and the distant symbol. The meanings and techniques for their use are taught. With this additional ability it is possible to focus on mental and emotional problems and for those not physically present, healing can be sent.
Reiki 3
A Reiki 3, or third degree attunement, is the level of Reiki Master.
This is the level where you recieve the Master symbol and are taught how to teach Reiki to others.
This level should be regarded as making a life time commitment to the mastery of Reiki healing, teaching and living Reiki.
