My Reiki Story
My interest in Reiki began in the year 2002. I had no previous
experience of natural hands on healing although I had, some years
earlier, been told that it was a path I was destined to follow.
I didn’t pursue the matter then, but now destiny was to
step in and move me in that direction.
Looking through a magazine I came across an article about Reiki.
Suddenly it became very important for me to gain more information.
Was this my intuition at work or just some crazy idea? A crazy
idea may well have been put to one side and forgotten but this
didn’t happen. I began to ask questions and look for people
who would be able to tell me what I needed to know. Once I started
my search I very quickly found the people who could point me
in the right direction. This was the first of many steps, trusting
my sixth sense, even though I had no idea of my destination.
From experiencing Reiki treatments to becoming attuned to Reiki
at level 1, was a natural progression. I was a raw beginner
and being able to channel the energy myself was an unknown entity
but gradually, as I learnt more and practised with daily self
healing I became more confident and progressed to giving healing
to family and close friends. It takes continuous practice to
build up strong healing energy and the more I worked at it,
the more aware I became of the energy.
I received my Reiki 2 attunement in August 2003 and then expanded
my healing to working more widely on a voluntary basis, thereby
gaining invaluable experience. When I was attuned to Reiki 2,
I knew without a doubt, that I wanted to become a Reiki Master
and that Reiki would become my life time commitment.
In October 2004 I gained my Reiki Mastership and was also given
instruction in teaching Reiki to others. Now, as well as offering
healing treatments for people and animals, especially horses,
I conduct regular workshops for people wanting to be attuned
to Reiki.
