Reiki For Animals
Animals have always been a very important part of my life. My
earliest memories include those of the dogs and cats that were
and integral part of our family. At times there were sad goodbyes
as age claimed these much loved friends but always a new character
arrived to fill our hearts and be loved.
Horses became my life’s work after I gained a position working
in an equestrian centre. This was the start of an exciting career
revolving around horses. From that time, 30 years ago, horses
have been a major part of my life.
Why Animals Need Healing
By nature animals are very sensitive. Not only do they suffer
from physical problems but living a lifestyle that is influenced
by humans can create mental and emotional disturbances.
Negative human moods can cause them worry and anxiety. In the
same way as humans suffer from stress, so can animals.
Healing works on a holistic level, treating the whole system.
Behavioural problems, which may have a root cause in past incidents,
can be helped by the healing working at a deep level, which may
well release past traumas.
Animals are naturally in tune with the healing energies, which
are gentle and non invasive, working to restore and improve general
health, helping any animal for any condition.
The benefits of Reiki apply to animals in just the same way as
they do for humans.
Sceptics might say that healing works because the receiver mentally
wants it to work. This idea is, however, shot to pieces by the
very fact that animals respond so well to the healing energy and
they cannot mentally convince themselves that they feel better.
They certainly don't understand anything about healing or that
they can be helped in such a way. A placebo effect cannot be considered
when working with animals; the response from them is very real.
It is important that the owner of an animal must seek advice from
a Vet when it is clearly needed. Reiki healing is a complementary
therapy and will work to enhance any treatment program suggested.
